Cooking with Compassion – Indian Flavors
Teacher: Meredith Klein
Indian cooking is beloved for its simplicity of preparation and its complexity of flavor. Come explore this interplay in the kitchen (and in your own life) in an afternoon cooking class dedicated to healthy, plant-based Indian recipes. From delectable dals to refreshing raitas, you’ll learn to make both classic Indian dishes as well as dishes with a modern twist. The class will include an overview of the properties of common Indian spices, and ways to pair them to inspire your own creations.
All Cooking with Compassion classes integrate cooking instruction and hands-on food preparation with mindfulness practice. You’ll come away with tools to increase your presence in the kitchen and in all areas of life.
This class will include:
- Overview of Indian cooking techniques and common spices
- Hands-on preparation of various dishes in small groups
- Recipes to take home
- A shared mindful meal
- Opportunities for silent practice and reflections throughout
- Great fun and awesome community!
This class is appropriate for all home chefs (including you!), regardless of experience. You will be provided with a list of items to bring to class.
